Apply for a Pedigree

In order to be considered a member of the Claimants Unity, and eligible to apply for a grant from the Foundation, it is first necessary to prove direct descendancy from the beneficiaries listed in the First Schedule of the will.

The Unity will prove claims of descendancy by issuing a PEDIGREE. To apply for a Pedigree, a child’s parents must first obtain a valid line of descendancy either to the First Schedule, or to another proven descendant. As an example, if you know your cousin has a pedigree, you can also obtain one if sufficient formal documentation is given to prove your blood relationship to your cousin.

It should be noted that, under the terms of the will, there must, in all instances, be a blood relationship; “Step” children and “Adopted” children do not qualify and cannot be issued a Pedigree.

All documents have to be sent to the Registrar of the Unity for Approval. The first application for any grant must be verified by the Unity Registrar.
